Freedom to serve…we need only to do it…

Occupy (Inhabit or Subjugate)

What if the world was a better place?

What if we all had the same income?

What if everyone had healthcare?

What if there was free education?

What if we all protest?

I cannot claim to understand the Occupy movement. Could it be that I am the 1%?

Vacate (Leave or Free)

Make the world is a better place.

Contribute by serving, giving, sharing.

Practice healthy living.

We are free to learn and to teach.

Applaud those who do.

In the United States of America you are free to make life better; you are free to give your time, money and efforts; you are free to exercise, abstain from fats, sugars, starches, smoke, alcohol, drugs, promiscuity and all that ails; you are free to read, study, and teach; you are free to support those who work to achieve the outcomes you desire. Liberty is a wonderful condition.

Liberty is the only thing you cannot have unless you are willing to give it to others.

Can we regulate and mandate everyone else and have liberty for ourselves?

One declares so many things to be a crime that it becomes impossible to live without breaking laws. – Ayn Rand

Are we willing to live free?

About sturner2

I am curious, not fearful or unafraid. I have delivered babies into this world. I have held the dying until their departure. Life, what is if for? What is it about? Do I know or don't I? Knowledge is elusive and never complete. The more I know, the more I know I don't know. My boss once asked me if I knew what I was doing. "No sir," was my reply, "but that has never stopped me before." This is one of those valuable lessons my mom taught me. Just because you don't know doesn't mean you shouldn't. I am willing. I am not always able. I have heard that "If it is worth doing, it is worth doing until you get it right." Here am I, send me. What is there about me that is different than all the rest? Possibly not all that much. I am a soul longing to do more, share more and know more. Born into a body in 1960, my parents raised me and continue to show me. My wife loves me. My children teach me. My friends stand by me. I share in this journey with many others. I am grateful. I have experienced more than 30 years as a husband, more than 30 years as a dad, and more than 30 years in the fire service. I continue to grow, feel and learn; and too, I diminish, numb, and forget. In honor or disgrace, blame or praise, I am prepared.

Great quotes! So many precious minds coming to the same conclusion: personal responsibility and being open to serve others.

These are some amazing people with much the same reasoning. I am sure, there are an equal number of quotes to support another agenda. I just cannot imagine a greater purpose than that of serving others in love, by a choice made without coercion.
Thank you magical Genie, for your comment.

You are not an enigma. it seems that three fourth of the population have their own agenda and heaven forbid anyone get in their space. Responsibility is not in their dictionary and if it is, it doesn’t apply to them. Spoiled is a term that seems to apply to those individuals. Awakening is a term that needs to be instilled, perhaps to all of us so we will recognize how to be more like Christ.

I am not sure I relish the manner your posts start out, “Mom says:”  Awakening is a fine notion in a word. I follow the Occupy movement a bit with wonder. They use many words and phrases which seem to impose on others in their rhetoric against an imposition they claim to have suffered. Who is asleep? The symbolism of a closed fist raised high rather than an open palm extended out ward. Am I missing something?

Thanks for following along this journey as a mom does. I still listen when mom says; maybe better now than then.
